The Catholic Advisory Council released today by Sen. Obama’s campaign is surprisingly deep in credible Catholic leaders, including academic stalwarts, a canon lawyer, women religious, and many individuals that have worked with the US Bishops conference for over a decade. Heading up the group are prominent pro-life Catholics.
McCain’s Catholic outreach list seemed to composed mostly of political actors, RNC Catholic outreach volunteers and college Republicans.
I think the seriousness of this Advisory Council reflects very favorably on Sen. Obama authentic desire to connect with Catholic voters, including pro-life Catholics. This will bode well for him in the fall.

Catholic in name only. They care not a whit about the millions of human lives that were aborted under their watch. The name Catholic in association with these actors becomes but an empty label.
Thank God there are US Bishops who will refuse Communion to the likes of Kerry and his ilk.
And what is it about Obama that causes such a foolish hysteria? There certainly is no experience to speak of, and when his associates and mentors are scrutinized one is left with nothing but a big question of just who is Barrack Obama and what does he really believe?
Therefore there is little surprise that the empty suited politicians listed as Obama’s Catholic Advisory Council will blindly support the well packaged and marketed purveyor of Hope, himself a suit filled with empty cliches. Hope in what? Hope for what? Sadly the answer seems to be simply, power, and its ever increasing government controls.
